How to add Arabic language support to English versions of Windows XP

If you are a Balot.net member and facing difficulty with the Arabic language, either because:

  • You have purchased your computer from the USA or Europe

  • You only have an English Windows XP or Windows 2000

Then you are likely to have question marks (????? ???? ?????) displayed while playing.

There is a solution to fix this problem and add Arabic support to your Windows XP or 2000 computer. All you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Go to the Control Panel, and click on Regional and Language Options, and click on the Languages Tab.

2. Ensure that the option box Install Files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai) is checked. If Windows asks to use the Local Files rather than Windows XP CD, click Yes.

3. Click the Details button.

4. Click the Add button.

5. Add Input Language: Arabic (Saudi Arabia), or any other Arabic country. If Windows asks to use the Local Files rather than Windows XP CD, click Yes.

6. Click OK.

7. Click the Advanced tab.

8. Select the Language for non-Unicode programs, choose Arabic (Saudi Arabia).

9. Click OK
